How to Control how Project Codes are used on Transactions
There are several tools that a user can use to control how project codes are used on transactions. These tools include the following:
- Use the Dimensions settings on the G/L accounts to control which accounts always required a project code.
- 2. Use the Portal User Security filters to define the projects that project contacts can view and transact with in the Purchase Request Portals or Financial Analysis Portals.
- Project budgets for projects can be created using the standard budget upload features, annually entered or uploaded using the Budget adjustment journal.
- Project tracking does not create Altus Dimension combinations. If these are used in your solution then they need to be created at the time that a project is created. Dimension combinations can be created manually in the Dimension Combinations page. Another easy way to create dimension combinations is the Create Project Dimension Combination report a ling to which can be found under Project Tracking > Analysis and Reporting.
